How to prepare for the 3 April 2025 EPSO Taxation competition tests.

EPSO's announcement of the test date has caught everyone by surprise. But everything is possible, including prepare to pass the EPSO Taxation competition tests in less than three weeks. This guide will break down the steps to take including a sample prep plan at the end.

How it works

  • Choose a date: The date you choose is the date you submit your response.
  • Prepare thoroughly: Review the official EPSO document with our additional preparation materials.
  • Do the test simulation: Complete the simulated written test on our platform.
  • Submit for evaluation: Ensure your response is submitted before midnight on the date you chose
  • Get feedback: You will receive your evaluation by midnight the following day.

If you prefer, choose Practice mode and take your time. But we highly recommend switching to Exam mode sooner, than later, because in the end it's the strict time limit that foils many candidates. Here are the practice questions, available individually or in discounted packages:

Some of you may be looking for more structured guidance, so here is a sample prep plan to help you out:

First 5 days

  • 30 minutes to 1 hour of reasoning skills practice - focus on the weakest area
  • 30 minutes of Field-related MCQ practice or studying resources

Next 5 days

  • 1-2 hours reasoning skills practice
  • 1 hour of Field-related MCQ practice or studying resources

Every other day

  • Add 1-2 hours Written Test prep
    • document analysis
    • response-writing practice
    • test simulation
  • This means reducing your reasoning skills and field-related MCQ practice by 30 minutes each

25 March - 31 March | Choose a day

31 March and 1 April

  • Do one full CBT reasoning skills test in Exam mode
  • Do one full field-related MCQ in Exam mode
  • Review Written Test document and your notes and analysis, and any evaluation you may have received

2 April | One day before the exam

  • 15-30 minutes each of reasoning skills and field-related MCQ / practice or review
  • 15-30 minutes reviewing EPSO’s written test document, your evaluation if you got one and any notes or analysis
    • Try to do these first thing in the morning, but as early as possible, so that in the evening you can just relax
  • Relaxation: whatever it is - yoga, hot bath, breathing exercises - do something to clear your mind and fully relax
  • Eat healthy and drink plenty of water
  • Avoid watching TV/movies and switch your phone to ‘Do not disturb’ early in the evening
  • Get to bed as early as you can
